Scott Hickman

I'm Scott, a 3rd-year student from France studying law at Castle. I'm also your JCR Campaigns Officer and Co-Head of the Welfare Team!

I'll be running this year's Campaigns Committee, made up of Assistant Campaigns Officers and Minority Officers. We'll be organising welfare campaigns throughout the year for you to engage with. These often include information campaigns (found primarily on the Welfare Instagram @castlewelfare, and on the Castle Freshers Facebook group), fun activities such as themed formals and parties in the Undie, and informative workshops and talks.

Campaigns to look out for are Sexual Health and Guidance Week (culminating in the infamous SHAG party in the Undie), the Culture Festival (and accompanying themed formal), Stress Less around exam season and many more!

My role revolves around student support, and while I focus on running these campaigns, I also help run the wider Welfare Team alongside the Welfare Officer, Charlotte. The team puts on activities such as 'tea times' and 'welfare walks,' providing you with opportunities to escape the stresses of uni life. Finally, as a confidential and accessible active listening service, I and the rest of the team are here to listen to your needs and concerns and, where possible, refer you to available and appropriate support services.
